The “Palia Strata” Nature & Hiking Association of Amorgos announces the 6th “Amorgos Trail Challenge” event, which is co-organized by the Municipality of Amorgos and the Region of the Southern Aegean
The races included in the Amorgos Trail Challenge event are:
- Spike race (in the event of adverse weather conditions that do not allow travel to Nikouria, the organizers reserve the right to transfer the race to an alternative location)
- Trail running race 19 kilometres
- Trail running race 7.5 kilometres
THE RACES SHALL TAKE PLACE ACCORDING TO THE FOLLOWNG TERMS & CONDITIONS:
1. RACE DATES
´Friday 10/5 & Saturday 11/5 2024
2. START – FINISH
- a) Spike:The start and finish line will be on Nikouria beach.
- b) 19 km:Start line: the parking area outside Hozoviotissa Monastery. Finish line: Aegiali beach.
- c) 7.5 km:The start and finish line will be on Aegiali beach.

1st Wave Start Time: 11.00 a.m. *waves every 5-10 mins

4. PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS
To participate in the Spike and 19-km races, you must be aged 18 or over, and sign the relevant release form at registration.
To participate in the 7.5-km race, you must be aged 12 or over; if you are a minor, your parent/guardian will have to sign the relevant release form.
5. AWARDS – MEDALS
All runners who complete the races will receive a commemorative medal. Awards will be presented to the top 3 male and top 3 female runners in the 7.5 km, 19 km and Spike events.
6. CUT-OFFS
The cut-off time for finishing the 7.5-km race will be 2.5 hours.
The cut-off time for finishing the 19-km race will be 5 hours.
7. ELECTRONIC TIMING
An official timing company is in charge of electronic timing for the Amorgos Trail Challenge races, and publication of the results.Therefore all participating runners will have to wear the bib and electronic timing chip they receive from the Registration Centre.
Timing mats will be placed at the race start/finish lines, and there will be intermediate checkpoints along the routes.
Runners without a bib or chip will not be included in the race results.
8. RESULTS
Unofficial results are published online as soon as the races are completed, thus allowing for the submission of objections within five calendar days. Official results are announced within ten (10) working days.
9. REGISTRATION CENTRE
All registrations take place via our official website, www.amorgostrailchallenge.gr. All runners must register for the races by 26 April 2024.
